PHOENICIA. Tyre. 126/5 BC-AD 65/6. Shekel (Silver, 24 mm, 14.42 g, 1 h), CY 177 = AD 51/2. Laureate head of Melkart to right, lion skin tied around neck. Rev. TYPOY IEPAΣ [KAI AΣYΛ]OY Eagle standing left on prow, palm frond in background; to left, ΡΟΖ above club; to right, KP above monogram; between the eagle's legs, 𐤀 (' in Punic). DCA Tyre 663. HGC 10, 357. RPC I 4676. Beautifully toned and sharply struck. Light deposits and minor scratches, otherwise, good very fine.
