HUNNIC TRIBES, Kidarites. Uncertain king, late 4th-early 5th century. Dinar (Gold, 34 mm, 7.44 g), 'Bahram' series, a late example with blundered legends, Balkh. King standing front, head to left, wearing a crenellated crown resembling that of Bahram with a globe on top between two broad horizontally-pleated ribbons and holding trident in his left hand; around, legend; to left, trident above small altar; to right, Kidarite tamgha. Rev. Oesho standing in front of bull. Göbl 733 ff. Vondrovec, Type 84. Struck from the usual worn reverse die, otherwise, extremely fine.
