Draped bust of Bistam to right, wearing mural crown with frontal crescent and pellet-in-crescent set on crescent; behind head, PYLWC AFZUT GDH ('victorious, may his kingship increase' in Pahlawi); before head, WSTHM ('Bistam' in Pahlawi). Rev. Fire altar flanked by two attendants; in upper left field, six-pointed star; in upper right field, crescent; in field to left, date; in field to right, LD (name of the mint in Pahlawi). Sunrise 977. Very rare. A beautifully toned and unusually attractive example. Minor areas of weakness, otherwise, good very fine.
