KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 16 mm, 8.59 g, 10 h), Amphipolis, struck under Philip II or Alexander III, circa 340/36-328 BC. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠOY Charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below horses, astragalos. Le Rider 28 (D12/R22). A rare variety. Well struck and lustrous. Light die rust and tiny marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
