CARIA. Antioch ad Maeandrum. Circa 90/89-65/60 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.09 g, 12 h), Moschas, son of Xanthos, magistrate. Laureate head of Apollo to right with bow and quiver over his shoulder. Rev. ΑΝΤΙΟΧΕΩΝ - MOΣXAΣ / ΞANΘOY Zebu bull standing left, head facing; before, palm frond; all within maeander pattern border. Thonemann (forthcoming) Group A, 6 (O6/-). A beautiful example struck from a hitherto unknown reverse die with an unusually compact maeander pattern border. Good very fine.
