KYRENAICA. Kyrene. Ophellas, Ptolemaic Governor, first reign, circa 322-313 BC. Stater (Gold, 20 mm, 8.63 g, 12 h), Chairios, magistrate. KYPANAION Female (?) charioteer, wearing long robes and holding kentron in her right hand, driving quadriga to right; above to right, radiant sun. Rev. KY XAIPIOΣ Zeus Ammon seated left on low throne, holding eagle in his right hand and leaning left on throne; before to left, thymiaterion. BMC 115 and pl. XIII, 22 (same dies). Naville 81 (same dies). SNG Copenhagen 1209 (same obverse die). Very rare. An attractive and very well centered example of this interesting issue. Very fine.
