KINGS OF PARTHIA. Mithradates II, 121-91 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 15.87 g, 12 h), Seleukeia on the Tigris. Diademed and draped bust of Mithradates II to left, wearing torc. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - MEΓAΛOΥ - AΡΣAKOΥ - EΠIΦANOΥΣ Arsakes I seated right on omphalos, holding bow in his right hand; in inner left field, monogram; to outer right, palm frond. Sellwood 24.5. Shore 68. Sunrise 282. A lovely piece, well struck and with a beautiful portrait. Very light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
