A rare and attractive stater from Paphos

CYPRUS. Paphos. Stasandros, second half of 5th century BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 11.00 g, 7 h). Bull standing left; above, winged solar disk; to left, ankh-like symbol; in exergue, palmette ornament. Rev. 𐠨𐠭𐠨 - 𐠞𐠪 ('sa-ta-sa' in Cypriot syllabic script) Eagle standing left with closed wings; before, one-handled vase; all within incuse square. Destrooper-Georgiades 15. Traité II 1291. Tziambazis 7. Rare. A well struck and clear example overstruck on a stater from Aegina. Traces of overstriking, otherwise, good very fine.
