CARIA. Antioch ad Maeandrum. Circa 90/89-65/60 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.19 g, 12 h), Damokrates, magistrate. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ANTIOXEΩN ΔAMOKPATHΣ Eagle, with closed wings, standing left on maeander pattern; before, lion skin draped over club; all within oak (or ivy?) wreath. Thonemann (forthcoming) Group C, 18 (O19/R37). Extremely rare, the fourth known example. Light pitting on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
