Divus Augustus, died AD 14. Dupondius (Orichalcum, 31 mm, 16.88 g, 8 h), Rome, struck under Tiberius, circa 22/3-30. DIVVS•AVGVSTVS•PATER Radiate head of Divus Augustus to left. Rev. S - C Victory flying to left, placing her right hand on shield inscribed S P Q R and resting on tree trunk. BMC 141. Cohen 242. RIC 77. Very rare. A particularly heavy example with a beautiful dark green patina and a fine portrait. Very light deposits, otherwise, very fine.
