Apparently unpublished
Lot 914
MESOPOTAMIA. Hatra. Pseudo-autonomous issue, early-mid-2nd century AD. AE (Bronze, 17 mm, 3.46 g, 11 h). Draped male bust to left. Rev. Large C S; above, star; all within laurel wreath. Slocum -. Walker -. Extremely rare and apparently unpublished. Somewhat smoothed, otherwise, very fine.

Style, fabric, legend and the inverted C S mark this coin as an issue from Hatra, but it replaces the usual bust of the sun god Shamash (or the much rarer moon god) with a draped male bust to left and the eagle on the reverse with a star. The small size indicates that it may have been a fraction of the larger unit (lots 912-913 above)
