KINGS OF MACEDON. Perseus, 179-168 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.48 g, 12 h), Attic standard, Pella or Amphipolis. Zoilos, magistrate. Diademed head of Perseus to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΠEΡΣEΩΣ Eagle with spread wings standing right on thunderbolt; above, monogram of ZΩ; to right, ME; between the eagle's legs, monogram of ΛΩ; all within oak wreath; in exergue, star. Mamroth, Perseus, 11. SNG München -. A lightly toned and very sharply struck example with a splendid portrait. A few very minor marks, otherwise, good extremely fine.
