Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Silver, 21 mm, 3.69 g, 6 h), uncertain mint in Spain (Colonia Patricia?), circa 19-18 BC. CAESAR AVGVSTVS Head of Augustus to left, wearing oak wreath. Rev. DIVVS • IVLIVS to left and right of eight-rayed comet with tail upwards. BMC 326. Cohen 97. RIC 37b. A lovely piece with a particularly sharp and attractive rendering of the Sidus Iulium. Minor area of weakness on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
