PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Arsinoe II, wife of Ptolemy II, died 270 BC. Oktadrachm or Mnaieion (Gold, 28 mm, 27.77 g, 12 h), Alexandria, later 260s to 246. Diademed and veiled bust of Arsinoe II to right, with the tip of a lotos scepter at the top of her head; behind to left, Θ. Rev. ΑΡΣΙΝΟΗΣ ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΟΥ Double cornucopiae bound with fillet and with two grape bunches hanging at sides. Lorber 388. SNG Copenhagen 134. Svoronos 460. An elegant and very well centered coin. A few very minor marks on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
