Solidus (Gold, 19 mm, 4.32 g, 7 h), Constantinopolis, 945-959. +IҺS XPS RЄX RЄGNANTIЧm' Bust of Christ Pantokrator facing, with cross nimbus, holding book of Gospels in his left hand and raising his right in benediction. Rev. COҺSTAҺT' CЄ ROmAҺ' AЧςς b R' Crowned facing half-length busts of Constantine VII , with short-beard and wearing loros on the left, and Romanus II, beardless and wearing chlamys on the right, holding between them long patriarchial cross with their right hands. DOC 15. SB 1751. Slightly clipped and with some scrapes, otherwise, about very fine.
