An early imitation of am aureus of Diocletian

UNCERTAIN GERMANIC TRIBES, Pseudo-Imperial coinage. Late 3rd-early 4th centuries. 'Aureus' (Gold, 19 mm, 7.11 g, 11 h), imitating Diocletian, 284-305. DIOCINIVS AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Diocletian to left. Rev. COIINVIIЄIIVINIICOO Diocletian, togate, standing front, head to left, holding globe in his right hand and scepter in his left. Cf. Calicó 4434 ff. (for prototype). With original suspension loop attached. Minor scratches and with a scuff on the edge, otherwise, good fine.

This must be a rather early imitation, as the style is quite neat and the legends are still mostly legible.
