UNCERTAIN GERMANIC TRIBES, Pseudo-Imperial coinage. Late 3rd-early 4th centuries. 'Aureus' (Gold, 22 mm, 6.32 g, 1 h), imitating Probus, 276-282. DIIIISUBOD IDSIIBBIIO - ICICI Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Probus to left. Rev. TCUBSIOHOIIIN\DST / O⧝O Sol, radiate, standing front, head to left, holding globe in his right hand and raising his left in salute. Holed and with a scrape on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.

The prototype of this issue is an aureus of Probus with either CONSERVAT AVG (Calicó 4149-4154) or ORIENS AVG(VSTI) (Calicó 4169-4171) on the reverse.
