Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛΕΩΣ - ΣΕΛEYKOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and Nike presenting wreath in his right; to left, monogram; below throne, monogram of TP. Le Rider, Antioche 34 (A3/P17). SC 29.1e. Boldly struck, nicely toned and of fine style. Extremely fine.


This is very probably the earliest issue of Seleukeia Pieria after its foundation by Seleukos I in April 300 BC.
