KINGS OF ARMENIA. Tigranes II ‘the Great’, 95-56 BC. Dichalkon (Bronze, 18 mm, 5.38 g, 1 h), Tigranokerta, circa 80-68. Draped bust of Tigranes II to right, wearing five-pointed tiara decorated with a star between two eagles and tied with a diadem. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - BAΣIΛEΩN / TIΓPANO[Y] Herakles standing facing, head to left, leaning right on club and holding lion's skin draped over his left arm; in fields to left, monogram of TP; in upper right field, A. Kovacs 82. A sharp and attractive coin with a splendid portrait. Slightly rough, otherwise, good very fine.
