CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Ambiani. Late 2nd to mid 1st century BC. Stater (Gold, 17 mm, 7.59 g, 2 h), 'statère biface au flan court' type. Celticized laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. Celticized horse galloping to right, horseman transformed into fibula-like figure; below, rosette. DT 157. LT -. SLM -. Very rare. A lovely, early piece of attractive style. Good very fine.
