A lovely quarter stater from an uncertain tribe with a wonderful reverse

CELTIC, Northwest Gaul. Uncertain tribe. 3rd to first half of 2nd century BC. Quarter Stater (Gold, 12 mm, 2.00 g, 8 h), 'type oiseau-chaudron'. Celticized male head with curly hair to right. Rev. Bird with spread wings riding horse to right; below, cauldron; below forelegs, ornament formed out of three crescents; in exergue, imitative legend devolved into ornamented ground line. DT 2060. LT 6951 ('Baiocassi'). SLM -. Extremely rare. A lovely issue with a wonderful reverse. Some scratches, otherwise, good very fine.
