Q. Pomponius Musa, 56 BC. Denarius (Subaeratus, 18 mm, 3.03 g, 2 h), irregular mint. Q•POMPONI MVSA Head of Apollo to right, hair bound with fillet. Rev. HERCVLES - MVSARVM Hercules standing right, wearing lion's skin and playing lyre; before, club. Cf. Babelon (Pomponia) 8, Crawford 410/1, RBW - and Sydenham 810 (for prototype). Minor breaks in plating and with two test punches on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
