KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.52 g, 4 h), Abydos, struck under Leonnatos, Arrhidaios, or Antigonos I Monophthalmos, 323-317. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠOY Charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below horses, monogram of ΠAP. Le Rider -. SNG ANS 299-300 (additional control marks). Thompson, Philip 25 var. (additional control mark). Triton XVIII (2015), 465 (same dies). Very rare. Traces of mounting and with some marks, otherwise, good very fine.
