ATTICA. Athens. Circa 440s BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 17.17 g, 1 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. ΑΘE Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig and crescent; all within incuse square. Kroll 8. Svoronos, Monnaies, pls. 12 passim. A beautiful piece of very attractive transitional style. Extremely fine.
