KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Stater (Gold, 18.5 mm, 8.54 g, 1 h), Miletos, struck by Asandros under Philip III, circa 323-319. Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with serpent. Rev. AΛEΞANΔΡOΥ Nike standing left, holding wreath in right hand and stylus in left; to left, monogram of KH; to lower right, labrys. Price 2114. Lustrous and very well centered. Minor flan flaw on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
