Claudia Augusta, the infant daughter of Nero and Poppaea, was born in 63 CE, died before reaching four months of age, and was promptly deified; her mother died during another pregnancy in 65 CE. This is the only known coin type honouring Diva Claudia. It was probably struck at Caesarea Paneas, Agrippa II’s capital, and – although it does not name him – underscores his close ties to the Neronian dynasty.
