Extremely rare, perhaps the second known example

SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos IV Epiphanes, 175-164 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.62 g, 11 h), uncertain eastern mint. Diademed head of Antiochos IV to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to left, filleted palm frond; in exergue, monogram. SC 1561B (same dies). Extremely rare, perhaps the second known example. Very fine.

Hought, Lorber and Hoover comment on this very unusual and rather crude issue as follows: 'The coin cannot be attached to the output of a known mint in the region, but the palm branch symbol suggests the commemoration of a victory'.
