Umayyad Caliphate. Uncertain period (pre-reform). Pashiz (Bronze, 25 mm, 2.07 g, 8 h), Arab-Sasanian type, uncertain mint in Fars or Khuzistan, after 660 AD. Two facing Byzantine-style busts, the left one slightly larger than the right one, copying issues of Heraclius and Heraclius Constantine; illegible legend between the two busts and around them, probably pseudo-epigraphic; all within a beaded circle. Rev. Sasanian attendant standing to left; in the center, ‘yʾnbwt'’ = ‘Gyānbūd’ (in Pahlavi; a proper name or an epithet?); an illegible Pahlavi legend in two lines to the right; all within a beaded circle.
